Everyone thinks they’re good at helping and coaching others. So much so, we give ourselves a good 'ol pat on the back, "job well done" and treat ourselves to some fancy disillusionment along the way. We think we are so cool and special.

Only, most of us aren’t. Not really.

This week, we break down what coaching actually is (it's not what you see in the movies!) and why advice, logic, and “fixing it” usually misses the mark. Sam guides us through what it looks like to really show up for someone, ask better questions, and create space for real change.

Also in this week's episode: Sam brings a story that actually restores a little faith in humanity, such as recent positive news in environmental conservation and changes in Japanese custody laws! Oh, and the impact of global conflicts on airline travel. ew gross.
